The Children’s Place is a non-profit, private agency modeled after Children’s Advocacy Centers around the country. The purpose is to provide a child-friendly, neutral facility where professionals from many agencies involved in the evaluation, investigation, and treatment of child abuse meet to coordinate and bring their services to the child and their family.

Opened in March of 1999, The Children’s Place is funded by federal, state, and local grants, earned revenue  and private donations. The goals are to prevent additional trauma to the child, provide families with support, counseling and other services during and after the investigation, and hold more offenders accountable.

The Children’s Place Mission

To offer hope and healing to children and families impacted by child abuse and neglect through a coordinated community response.
